Recently I started playing Owlboy, and I can already tell you that it’s a spectacular game. Made by D-Pad Studio, this story follows Otus who is part of a human-owl hybrid race called the Owls. When his village is suddenly attacked by pirates he sets out on an adventure in order to save it.

This game has been in development since 2007, and the wait has been worth it. Featuring 2D style with amazing visuals, exploration and adventure to go along with it. Not only that the soundtrack is soothing when needed and exciting when the pace is being rushed.

With many different puzzles and boss fights, Owlboy never seizes to amaze me. You are also helped by your friends in the game, but with a creative twist. By carrying companions to help you complete a task. An example is with the help of Geddy (your “best bud”) you carry him around while he blasts obstacles with his gun.

Without getting too far into the story or giving away any spoilers; this short but sweet game is a great experience and definitely worth the 25 dollar price tag.
