Recently, the Fine Bros, known for being content creators on YouTube, announced the launch of their new business model called, “React World.” By joining React World, the Fine Bros would allow up-and-coming YouTube creators to use their brand of “kids react videos, elders react videos, etc.” with their permission, but with a commission from the profits of course. The Fine Bros have filled for the trademarks to many react videos. This announcement has caused outrage among the YouTube community as well as the internet in general. Many people were saying that the Fine Bros had no right to the trademark for react videos, because they didn’t invent the action of reacting to something.
They have lost about a hundred thousand subscribers since the announcement of React World and at one point they were loosing about 20,000 subscribers an hour. The Fine Bros later issued an apology claiming that they will no longer be seeking the trademark to any react videos, they will no longer sue people who create react videos, and they will not ask YouTube to remove any other react videos. The original video that the Fine Bros had posted of React World has since been removed.
